The school holidays, sorted
When the holidays come round, here is somewhere your child will actually want to be. Real full days outdoors on Tablehurst, a working biodynamic farm in Forest Row: hands in the soil, away from the screens, while you get on with work or simply catch your breath. They come home tired, muddy and full of stories.
You do not need to home educate, and your child does not need to come to our weekly sessions. Farm Explorers is for everyone. New families are very welcome, whether your child is at school all term and only free in the holidays, you fancy trying the farm before committing to anything weekly, or you are already with us and want to grab some extra days.

A real working biodynamic farm
Not a play barn or a car park marquee. Your child spends the day on genuine farmland, doing real, hands-on farm life alongside the animals, the garden and the woods.
Hands on with the animals
Scattering feed, filling water, collecting still-warm eggs, checking on the goats. Children learn to care for real animals that depend on them.
Lunch cooked over the fire
Chopping, stirring, harvesting from the garden, then cooking and eating together around the flames. Food always tastes better when you have grown and made it yourself.
Dens, woods and proper play
Long afternoons in the woods building dens, climbing, making and exploring, with seasonal crafts and games in between. The kind of free, muddy play that holidays are made for.
A small, caring team
Days are led by people who know this farm and know children. The group stays small, so every child is seen, settled and quick to make friends.
What a day looks like
The day starts at 9:30am with a welcome circle and a look at what needs doing, then it is straight out to the animals: feed scattered, eggs collected, water topped up, the warm smell of the barn. The morning might be spent pulling and washing carrots in the garden or working on a seasonal project, before everyone gathers round the fire to cook and eat lunch together. Afternoons are for the woods, for den building, crafts, games and getting gloriously muddy, until it is time to be collected at 3:00pm, rosy-cheeked and full of stories. No two days are quite the same, because life on a working farm follows the season and the weather, not a timetable.
